Don't you want to celebrate your business?
Well, me too! That's right, I wanted to celebrate this new segment of my business the right way. What is the right way, though? I'll get to that later on in this post... If you have landed here at melissaramseyonline.com then I am sure you are familiar with my previous work. Or maybe you are just familiar with the work that I have done for my clients. Whether you know me from my work as an artist or MUSICpreneur, or most recently, my work locally and internationally with fellow entrepreneurs, creatives and nonprofits; thank you. I am so glad you are here!
So, this isn't my first rodeo launching a website, but somehow, this feels altogether different.
Can I be real? This took some doing. This site, it's contents, and, gee-whiz, working on it alongside becoming a Data Scientist... by the way, it feels like I have been in school FOREVER, but I am so glad I have, once and for all, FINISHED!
You said I could be real, right? There were moments in the last few years that I felt that everything was on its side and my life was on a slippery slope to being upside down. It is quite challenging to run a business, host events, raise a family, and be a student. You name it; it has happened!
At the moment I am writing this, I am still in awe of myself that I have completed the Data Science program at the co-founder of Apple's school, Woz-U, and somehow, I also managed to obtain several Apple Ed certifications simultaneously. Not to mention, being named as winner of another award, the 2020 Artist Vision award, for my work with fellow creatives and the vision I have for the work continuing to affect positive change in the world.
Just like you, my goal has always been the same: be a vessel. To deliver what it is I am supposed to in the world to you and all of the entrepreneurs I have been blessed to serve through my business. But, gosh, why in the heck is that so hard? Like, whyyyyyyy? All I want to do is share what I am supposed to, with who I am supposed to. Whether that be one-on-one, virtually, in the form PR or organizational programming initiatives, or simply investing my time and talent into the communities and people I believe in. Either way, the goal has always, and forever will be the goal.
Over the years, I have shared a lot about my journey, and I have purposefully, and transparently shared more than just the highlight reel. I have never wanted to be misleading about the process, its pitfalls, or anything in between. I wanted to be as honest as possible because let's be real: she said life ain't no crystal stair!
I digress.
I'd like to say that it has been smooth sailing returning to school, but I'd be lying. Not only that, if I didn't have a powerful testimony that would cause a shift in the minds and hearts of people; I'd just go ahead and be silent. There wouldn't be any need to have this or any other platform where I have shared the importance of mindset, faith, and the behaviors that have worked for me when I've approached every single aspect of this journey.
Ever wonder why people call it that? A journey? I mean it's so cliche, right? Wrong, as a matter of fact, you'll find along your way that every moment, by definition, is truly working to get from one place to the other.
I talk more about my personal journey in the IndieBOSS book. I'll also share a variety of tools in the IndieBOSS workbook. Both will be available for pre-order again really soon.
I'll be introducing new segments and series to my IndieBOSSTalk Podcast in the coming weeks. In the meantime, be well!
As I shared in my last blog, this post was written pre-pandemic and I've been waiting to share after I officially graduated and launched the site. If you haven't checked out my previous post, you can do so here. I pray you all are well and I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has encouraged me, supported my art and my business over the years. I appreciate you so much; you have no idea what it has meant to know you have been rooting for me!
